A review of 2006 at St Andrew's 2006 was a busy year at St Andrew's with a great deal of effort devoted to fund-raising for the building work. The highlight of January was the Burns' Night, our hall was filled as everyone enjoyed the tribute to the great Scottish poet Robert Burns. A heart-warming broth was followed with haggis, neeps and tatties as is traditional at such an event, followed by a heather-coloured pudding if I remember rightly. We had concerts - we had some very talented children entertain us, we had jazz, we had barbershop and we had lots of singing too. Another popular event were the Spud 'n Pud lunches - a tasty meal was had by many. In June, St Andrew's had one of the biggest events, a flower festival. There were many wonderful floral arrangements including themed arrangements by various groups. As the summer drew to a close, there was a very successful Harvest Supper with food from many of the different countries represented in our congregation and we had dancers too. The dark evenings also brought around our Church Anniversary, the Barn Dance, Pipes and Drums and a St Andrew's Night celebration that saw many try their skills at some Scottish dances.
